We're so glad you're interested in adopting one of our children.
To us, every animal at Abrigo Toda Vida Importa is part of our family — lives we've rescued, cared for, and deeply love. That's why we always look for the best possible home for each one of them.
Adopting is an act of love and responsibility. It's a decision that must be made consciously, since it's a commitment for the rest of the animal's life.
No animal is handed over at the adoption event.

To ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, we follow a careful adoption process:
- Fill out the Adoption Form, which will be forwarded to our legal team.
- Send the following documents: a copy of your ID and tax ID, and a recent proof of address.
- Pay the legal review fee: R$100 — payment must be made together with the submitted documents.
Important: payment does not guarantee adoption approval.
This fee was created due to the high number of withdrawals after the review began, which generated costs for the shelter.

Review and Approval
The application review takes 7 to 10 business days.
After approval, a home visit will be carried out to confirm the information and check whether the environment is safe and suitable for the animal (no escape routes).
Adoption Requirements
- Apartments: windows and balconies must be screened.
- Houses: must have secure walls and gates, with no possibility of escape.
These measures are essential to keep the animal safe and prevent accidents.
Spay/Neuter
All animals at Abrigo Toda Vida Importa are spayed/neutered.
Puppies and kittens not yet spayed/neutered will have the procedure performed by the shelter once they reach the appropriate age, with a trusted veterinarian.
Spaying/neutering is not optional.
If the adopter fails to bring the animal on the scheduled date and time for the procedure, the adoption will be cancelled and custody of the animal will return to the shelter.
The adopter is responsible for pre-operative exams, proving the animal is healthy before surgery.
The cost of the procedure with our partner veterinarians is covered by the shelter.
Returning the Animal
We understand that unexpected situations happen, but returning the animal should always be the last resort.
Should it occur, a R$250 fine will be charged, plus:
- One 15kg bag of good-quality pet food
- The cost of pet transport back to the shelter
Good to Know
All our animals are microchipped and remain registered under Abrigo Toda Vida Importa's name, for control and safety.
Adoption is a commitment of love, respect and responsibility — not just a momentary gesture.
Thank you for your understanding and care.
Every responsible adoption means a new chance at happiness for an animal that has already suffered enough.
May you live this beautiful experience with awareness and a great deal of love.
